To change the AM tuning band from 522-1620kHz to 520-1710kHz on the AR-1733, firstly make sure the Radio is Off ie time displayed. Press and hold the channel spacing 9/10kHz button until the display reads MW 10kHz. This changes the AM tuning band to 520-1710kHz with 10kHz spacing. You can now enter the exact station frequency ie 1683kHz by pressing the FREQ button, then the AM frequency by using the keypad 1, 6, 8, and 3.
